Carl Sandburg College brings classical farce to the stage with its production of “Noises Off” from Nov. 8-10 in the Fine Arts Theater, Room F118, on the Main Campus in Galesburg, 2400 Tom L. Wilson Blvd.
This funny and fast-moving British play by Michael Frayn is the first to be directed at Sandburg by theater instructor Robert Thompson. “Noises Off” is a play within a play, as each of its three acts portrays the first act of a play called “Nothing On.” The production captures the behind-the-scenes hilarity of the touring theater troupe’s run, from dress rehearsal to one of its final performances.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8-9 and 2 p.m. Nov. 9-10. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the box office, which opens 30 minutes before each show. Those presenting a current Sandburg ID can get in free to the Nov. 10 matinee.
